YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got curious about the age limit on the Sasha and Digweed show and figured I’d give it a last ditch effort to see if I could go. So… I made a long distance phone call (on the advice of Lauren) to Avalon in Boston and taked to this very nice girl who turned out to be the booking manager (or something like that) and she told me that the show was indeed 19+ and that Next (the ticket agency) had gotten it wrong in posting it as 21+. YES!!!!! I get to see Sasha, Digweed and Jimmy Van M!!!! I’m floating right now…

Well, Chris finally got around

Well, Chris finally got around to updating his damn page. (’bout time foo!) It seems like he had a good trip, though there’s questionable expectations from MS. As for me, I’m neck deep in school stuffage. I don’t know where money for next semester is coming from, I don’t have money for my final, I don’t have inspiration for my projects. Etc etc etc. Whatever.

In other randomness, Lauren and her roommates are throwing a little shin-dig tonight. Food and beverages and movies, always a wonderful combo. I’m actually bringing the refreshments, so I’ve got to remember to make a trip to the store tomorrow.

I also get to pick my classes on Friday morning (8am, yuck!). I was going to take Studio Photo but there’s only one teacher for the course and everyone (including other teachers) have said that she’s possibly the worst teacher ever. Great. So now I either take a class with a teacher that completely sucks, or I take something else I need to get out of the way and fall a little more behind in my course of study than I already am. Great. Besides studio, I was going to take 20th Century Photo History and Advanced Poety Theory. Maybe I can take Digital 2 or something. I dunno. We’ll see.

I guess thats about it. Time for sleepy. Later.

Holy Shit! Jason’s car was

Holy Shit! Jason’s car was just stolen!!! Actually, it was stolen durring the night, but we found it missing this morning. He called the police, they found it and now it’s at a garage being fixed. Aparently they “spiked” the stearing column and hot wired it that way. They also got his stereo, his sub woofer and a few other random things from inside the car. I still can’t believe it was stolen from inside a gated community. Which leads me to believe it was someone from here or atleast someone who knows this place. They did however, arrest the driver, so justice will hopefully be served. Knowing the system however, he’ll probably get a fine and some community service time. Unless this isn’t his first time, in which case he’ll probably get a month or two. How sad.

It feels odd not to

It feels odd not to have posted anything yesterday. I guess there were a few things going on that needed a little more attention. Anyway. So, no Digweed… I’m dealing. Not very well, but I’m dealing. I guess we’ll just have to wait till after x-mas to see some great shows. Hopefully there’ll be some good DJs coming to either Atlanta or Boston (if I’m home on a break) in the next few years.

Besides that, I had my presentation today in 3D, it went well. Nothing special. I also got some new batteries for my flash and it looks like it’s completely busted. Oh well. Guess I’ll have to figure something out. On the up-side, Jason does have some colored “gels” for film that will work quite nicely for a few shots. Hopefully this assignment will work out. I’m not exactly “inspired” at the moment, but I hope something comes along and sparks my intrest in color. I’d much rather be shooting black and white at the moment. I don’t like the hassels of color.

There are a few up-sides to color though. It’s very hard to do an “emulsion lift” with black and white. Emulsion lifts are cool. Basically, it’s very carefully removing the top layer of a photographs emulsion and floating it in water, manipulating it and then re-attaching it to other paper. This is a bad example, but it illustrates my point. Anyway, we get to learn how to do those today in class and I’m interested in that. Should be fun.

I also took some random self-portraits the other day and I’ll scan those in today in the lab, hopefully they came out well, but I’ll let you be the judge.

I also have hit a snag on the road of financial aid for school. SCAD f*cked up again and reapplied me for a loan that I can’t pay for. So, now I have to turn the money down and start the paperwork process all over again. All this after sending them specific instructions NOT to do exactly what they did AND letting them know about my current situation. All of which they apparently ignored. Swell.

Ok, I’ve had enough SCAD crap for today and I appologize for the rambling, I’m gonna go to bed now. night night.

Well, Chris has let me

Well, Chris has let me know that the Sasha & Digweed show is a go for the 24th of November. He also let me know that the show is 21+. Have I mentioned how much I hate my life? The biggest, and I mean biggest, DJs in the world are coming to my backyard and I can’t see them. But what about making a fake ID you say? Read this. It’s all about how Massachusetts is cracking down on fake IDs, upping the penalties to jail time and etc, and how Avalon (the place where the show is) is a central place for spotting fakes. DAMNIT!!! Have I mentioned that I turn 21 in DECEMBER!!! Yup, just 27 days after the show, I could have legally gone to it. I hate my life, no, scratch that, I have a good life, I just hate life’s timing. Why? Please, someone tell me why? Why would a show of this magnitude, not be 18+??? Why must the two DJs I want to see most in the world, play in November? I suppose it could be worse, they could be playing on December 20th, the day before, just to mock me. I hate Massachusetts, I hate Avalon, and I hate 21 year olds all over the planet. FUCK!
