I saw a post on Tess’ journal and I started thinking about it for a bit. Problem is that after I was “done” thinking about it I tried to go to sleep. My brain apparently disagreed with me and continued to think about it. So, here I am, 2am and making a post to my web page when I should be sleeping. Oh well.
“There are tons of things that make me happy that I take for granted; like friends, family, good health, a place to live, food to eat, a job, both my legs, etc. But there are also tons of little things that I tend to overlook. So, beyond the obvious, these are the little things that I am grateful for/that make me happy:”
-old black and white movies
-vanilla coke
-photography
-the fact I never grew up
-a good sense of sarcasm
-hot apple pie
-having a girlfriend that likes my geek-ness
-skiing
-autumn air
-ultimate frisbee
-techno
-Boston
-being independent
-Mexican food
-huge Margarittas (see above)
-the smell of photo chemicals in the morning
-counter-strike
-comfortable shoes
-Dunkin’ Donuts
-Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox
-watching play-off hockey
I guess thats about all I can think of for the moment. I’m going to sleep now.

Yesterday Lauren and I took a little road trip to Charleston to visit her friend Ashely. It was quite a nice trip until we stopped to have some dinner. We were eating at your typical micro-brewery-turned-into resturant type place. You know, those places that only serve their own beer and usually have good BBQ. Anyway, as our food was arriving the waiter reached over the table to hand me my plate and knocked an entire class of iced tea into my lap. It was cold and a bit unpleasent. I did my best to not strangle anyone, after all, it was only an accident. It’s not like it was something that was going to stain my clothes or cause perminet injury. So, semi-smiling through my teeth, I cleaned myself off and sat back down. To my amazement the waiter never came back over to appologize, merely asking if there was anything else he could do for us. He didn’t even tell our waitress (he was just the guy that brought that food out). Not only that but he didn’t tell a manager or any one else for that matter. Now, this may sound bad, but if I get a drink spilled into my lap I expect a piece of pie or something. I got nothing. Barely even an appology. Where’s my pie damnit! At least give me a free drink, free desert, something. I don’t expect to get a free dinner, but some pie would be nice. Oh well. Can’t win’em all.
Anyway, Nagle just called and asked if we wanted to go see 1 Hour Photo, so I might go do that. Later.

Wow, I’m gone for two weeks and my blood pressure stays just fine… but I’m back for 1 day and the Microsoft-isms already abound. You know… I think I’d live longer if I just stepped away from the keyboard for a while. In the meantime, you can make yourself ill by reading this:
The fatal flaw in MS’s new Media Center PC
And when you’re done with that you can grudgingly get both Win XP and IE6 service packs. Enjoy your daily dose of capitalism and evil.

After a friggin exhausting wait for cable/internet, I’m finally back in the land of the living. Though, truth be told I didn’t miss TV one bit. I could actually do without the “idiot box” for quite some time if it wasn’t for the Daily Show. Anyway, I’ve been spending most of my time getting the apartment “comfortable” to live in. The involves the basic “moving in” sorts of things: hanging pictures, unpacking boxes, setting up furnature, etc. Besides all that jazz I have managed time to finish GTA 3 and start in on some Morrowind. I’m basically using that as a time killer until I get my hands on the multitudes of nifty games due out in the months between now and Christmas.
That’s about it. Everyone around here is basically killing time until this semester starts, myself included. I think once classes start next week everything will be back to the same old routine. I actually can’t wait for classes this year. It being my senior year I finally get to have all the classes I’ve wanted to take since I got here. I have only two required courses left and then a shit load of electives. Huzah. Jason also told me that his uncle is going to give him a bunch of photo equipment because he doesn’t want it any more. Jason not being a photo major told me that I’d get it instead so that it doesn’t all go to waste. Allegedly there’s a camera or two and an enlarger involved. That might be pretty cool.
I should probably mention the new apartment as well. It’s nice. Very nice actually. It’s a split-two bedroom with a decent sized kitchen and almost as much room as our old apartment. It’s in a much more upscale neighborhood and doesn’t have nearly as many “maintenance issues” that the old apartment had. Plus the added bonus of living a mere 20ft from Lauren make this an ideal situation.
Ok, time to get some rest, there’s plenty more “nothing” to do tomorrow while I wait for classes to start. At least I get a little break to mentally unwind. Later.

Trust me. Otherwise typing would be a tad bit difficult. I do however, have a lack of internet service. The cable guy is coming on Thursday. Then I will have a cable modem again. I of course have stories about my trip and about what I’ve been doing for the past week or so, but those will also have to wait until Thursday. I’ll catch everybody up then. Later.
