hmmm… the devil?

“MS gets a lot of inappropriate criticism, but if they implement this, they only friends they’ll have are their own employees and the drug addicted movie and music industry.

Palladium will bring the PC revolution to a screeching, crashing halt. Palladium has to be the stupidest, most boneheaded idea ever invisioned by the mind of Man. MS must have some sort of suicide wish!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

My main concern is that people are going to bitch and complain all the way to the store and fork over money for a new OS anyway. I think it’s sad that people think they have a “choice” too. I mean, sure, I could switch to FreeBSD, Linux, but what would that do? It would mean that I couldn’t take an OpenOffice document to Kinko’s to be printed. I couldn’t take a picture to the photolab on a CD to work on it. Sure, I could surf the web, write email and edit pictures, but the interoperability isn’t there. Microsoft knows this. I know they do. They have everyone over a barrel with their pants down. The abuse is coming, it’s just a matter of time. And what’s with this bullshit of them changing the Win2k EULA? I installed that operating system 2 years ago. At the time my EULA didn’t mention anything about MS installing anything without my permission. Now, SP3 SPECIFICALLY states that you give up that right and let them have their way with your system. I didn’t agree to that 2 years ago. So, screw SP3, screw SP2 for XP. I’ve never had security issues that my router and firewall couldn’t handle. They can keep their “security patches” if they only ones it give “security” to them.

/end rant.

The things you can do with a baseball bat…

Well, all sorts of things have been going on the past few days. I won’t bore you with mindless details (although you’ve probably come to expect that). Let’s see… I’ve shot some film, finished a project for class, started another project, got half-way through my website redesign (only content left), played the Doom 3 leaked Alpha (holy heck!) and played even more Mafia. It’s actally one heck of a game. Think GTA3 only durring the 1930’s and with the mob instead of gangs. It’s got everything from tommy-guns to old cars to a great sound track. Here’s a quote for the site:

The player assumes the role of a gangster in an American city of the 1930s, and gets a chance to live through gangster’s rise and fall. In a spell-binding story of human hunger for power, he will experience everything that was taking place in the underworld during this stormy period: high-speed car chases, bootlegging, assassinations, and bank robberies.

I could ramble on and on about my daily routine but most of you probably don’t care about what I had for lunch so I won’t bother. It’s just classes, work, classes, more work and that’s about it.

Movie Review: Punch Drunk Love

You know, after reading Penny Arcade the other day, I got a new perspective on “reviews” and realized that all someone really wants to hear is if something was good enough to spend money on. Only a few folks give a crap about WHY it was good. Most people just want to find people who have similar tastes in things and ask “was it good?” Well, if you like your movies a little on the artsy side, with humor mixed in, you’ll love this movie. If you want to read the rest of the review you can click on the link below, otherwise, if we (you and I) have similar tastes, you’ll probably like Punch-Drunk Love and can save yourself some time reading. Go see it.

Good Day

Well, I don’t know about you, but I had a pretty friggin’ good day. This morning I took care of some financial aid paperwork and dropped off my film. I finished a section of my Buisness Practices homework and emailed it to my group. I got both my B&H order AND my Calumet order in the mail. I found a great little Tai place for dinner and had some Pad Tai and as I speak I’m washing it down with a Jack Daniels “Hard Cola”. I downloaded a game I’ve been looking for as well as a whole soundtrack and in a few hours I’m going to see “Punchdrunk Love.” What a good day I’m having. I’ve got photo supplies, a full stomach and a new game to play. Huzah!

So, tomorrow, it’s all about the web page. Hardcore. It WILL be finished tomorrow (I hope). Anyway, NHL Tonight is on ESPN at the moment, so I’ve gotta run. Later.
