Well. It’s Saturday and it’s raining. Fantastic. Today I’ve got to go up to Manchester and find a CD player for my Dad for Father’s Day. Hopefully that shouldn’t take more than an hour or so. After that I’m not doing much of anything. I’m actually in the mood for some computer games but no one has mentioned anything so I’m not sure if thats going to happen tonight or not. If not then I’d like to suggest a movie. Perhaps “The Born Identity”? Anyone up for that? If we’re not playing games of course. Otherwise I’m just going to chill on the couch with a DVD or two. So, someone let me know what’s up.

That was without a doubt the finest DJ event I’ve ever had the fortune to witness. Paul Van Dyk played track after track of beautiful, deep techno. Every song was better and faster than the previous. I think sometime around 1:30 people started to sit down for a break. That is probably the biggest complement someone can give a DJ. Sitting down because they’ve played such a great set that it’s tired the club goers out. Chris and I are in complete agreement that this perticular show was the best we’ve ever seen or are likely to see anytime in the near future. Wow. Simply that.
Of course a perfect evening couldn’t be without incident. Or else how could it be a “Matt Perry adventure”? Thankfully last nights “incident” only involved a slight traffic detour and about an hour added on to our trip home. Three cheers for minor rather than major annoyances. Luckily this is the only annoyance I can report because even the club experience last night was without aggrivation, which, as we all know, is next to impossible these days. Just read last weeks post-club post to see what I’m talking about. Somehow last night was the least aggrivating night I’ve spent at Avalon. Good job crowd. Thanks for not being morons.
And having mentioned Chris, I unfortunatly have to report that he has indeed left this morning for Long Island NY. He’ll start his job training on Monday for his new position at Computer Associates. Good luck bro.
Thats about it for me today. I slept in late, then ate. Now I’m debating whether or not to take a nap. Hehehe. What a life.

Well, it’s Wednesday. After getting constantly berated from my old man for the afternoon about not having a job yet I decided to go grocery shopping. Not because we really needed food, but because I can’t eat low fat boca burgers and 8-grain whole wheat bread any more. Just because everyone else is on a diet doesn’t mean I should have to be as well. Not that I don’t need it, I’m getting a little soft around the middle, but I prefer to diet a different way. It’s called the “eat whatever you want, don’t eat too much and exercise diet”. I like it.
On the job front… I’ve got a few names and numbers (or email addresses) and I’m definatly going to call them… but I have a small problem. What do I do if they ask to see a portfolio? My newest work is 16×20 (ie: to large for a standard sized portfolio case) and my older work is in Savannah. So, I either need to find a nice 16×20 photo portfolio (which is different from normal portfolio cases) or have my old work sent up from Savannah or get my digital portfolio into decent shape. I obviously favor the later option. Try explaining that to a father who isn’t quite in the midst of the “digital age”. If I’m sitting in front of my computer I’m obviously not working on anything important and therefor wasting my time. How aggrivating. But thats ok, because tomorrow is PVD.
Woot. I’m seriously looking forward to tomorrow night. Last time Paul Van Dyk came to town it was fantastic so there’s definatly some expectations to be met. The only thing that could be aggrivating is the crowd itself. Which, in my opinion, is 99% aggrivating 100% of the time. But, if ignored, it shouldn’t be too bad.
So, tonight I’m actually going to cook a little dinner for everyone. A little chicken parm and garlic bread. Should be tasty. That is all.

And so ends another day of procrastination. Not to be a total waste, I did mail my video card to CA. Hopefully I’ll have my new card in a few weeks. After that Chris and I headed into Nashua. We spent some time wondering around Newbury Comics and Boarder’s Books and eventually found our way over to Tweeter so that Chris could catch up with an old friend. We shot the breeze there for a while and actually ran into Jeff who was picking up a set of speakers he had purchased a few days prior. We ended up following him back to Milford because he wanted to give us our tickets for Thursday’s PVD concert in case he got out of work late. That’s about it. I came home after that and watched “The Godfather” while making myself some toast. Now I’m heading to bed. Such an exciting life I lead. Just kidding.
Later.

I should probably also mention that Chris and I saw Star Wars last night. I’ll just quote Chris to save a little time in the explination of our nearly comical disaster.
“Matt and I left for the 10pm show at 8:30, figuring it wouldn’t take more than 45 mins to an hour to get to the cinema. We would have been right if not for the 7 mile traffic jam on 495 because construction decided to re-route traffic from 3 lanes to 1 in the span of a mile and a half. Idiots.
After the delay and a few minutes spent actually finding the theatre, which was nicely hidden within a wall of trees, we sat down at approximately 10:25, missing about 10 minutes worth of the movie. fine for me but Matt was a tad upset because he hadn’t seen it yet. he asked me to fill him in, which wasn’t so bad as it was 2 scenes.”
Anyways. The movie was actually quite good. I know most of you thought I was going to hate it but I enjoyed myself quite a bit. You see, my problem with the first movie was that I expected too much. I wanted drama, action, acting and perhaps even a plot. What I got was a PG rated romp through CG land. So, with that in mind I cleared all expectations I had for this one. I knew there wasn’t going to be any plot, any good acting, or anything else except for action. I was right. The acting was horrid, the plot was thin and don’t get me started on the “love story.” But, that’s not why I went to see it. I didn’t need any of that. I went to see it to watch people beat the crap out of each other with light sabers. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The Yoda scene alone was worth the price of admission. So, I enjoyed Episode Two far more than Ep.1 and I don’t think too many people will disagree with me. Everyone’s expectations for Ep.1 were so high that it was bound to disappoint. Ep.2 however was a fun little diversion and well worth my time. So, huzah for light sabers, go see it. Just don’t expect a love story akin to Gone with the Wind and you’ll be fine.
Later.
