Hmm. Cable modem wise, things are still broken at home, which is rather aggrivating. I can understand the set backs and problems that may occur in switching to a new system, but three days without service (or service working correctly at the least) is a little silly. I called Tech Support last night. Not so much for myself but for Pete and Jason. As far as they could tell, we were running “correctly” and that the shitty connection speeds were just part of the migration traffic. She also couldn’t find record of our additional two IP addresses, which isn’t suprising to me, they’ve done that before. Actually, they’ve completely lost our account before, so I suppose this is an improvement. So, this afternoon, Pete and I will wonder down to have a chat with good old Comcast, hopefully straitening this all out.
Speaking of this afternoon, I still have to go to the art supply store and buy a wooden sphere and a can of matte white spray paint. So, between 11:30 and 3, I need to drive back out south side, go to Comcast, go to the store, have lunch, spray paint three objects and drive back by 2:45 for my class at 3:00. Joy. After that I need to pick up Lauren and drive her out to the island where she has MOPS at 6:00. Hopefully there’s something to do (or at least eat) on the island so that I won’t have to drive home in between dropping her off and picking her up at 8:00. I really, really hope there’s food out there because I can already tell that it’ll be one of those days where I won’t get to have lunch and that dinner will probably be a friggin’ pop tart. Oh well. Time for class. Later.

I’m going to kick my own ass. Why? Because I waited too long to upgrade my computer. Memory prices are back up, nearly double the price they were before the new year. System components too. Arg. Why me? Why couldn’t I get my loans figured out over the summer instead of over the winter. Then I would have had a fat refund check three months ago instead of two weeks from now. This is unpleasent. Upgrades that would have cost me $500 total will now cost me that much for only a MB and CPU if I’m lucky. I’ll still need a 350+w power supply, memory and a bunch of other things.
Damn the man.

Ok, I hate these things, and I promised that the last time I did one of these would indeed be the last time. I was wrong. Someone needed to go and make a Kevin Smith online quiz… so, I had to take it. It made me. Honest. Anyway.
I am:

You have a genius intellect and an awesome sense of humor. You can sarcastically put someone in their place without batting an eye. Your only problems seem to be that you have trouble acknowledging your true feelings and you may use your humor as a defense to hide what you are really feeling. But, your godliness overpowers any insignificant flaws you may have. Even if you tend to pass gas during very inconvenient moments.

Such randomness. First and most relevant, Comcast strikes again. The annoying southern cable giant, in an effort to continue it’s cable modem buisness, signs a deal with AT&T after Excite@Home bites the dust. This means that they’ll be switching their cable modem customers from @Home service to “Comcast high-speed service”, which sounds very sketchy to me. Anyway, to do this they obviously need to switch over their systems and do an upgrade… with out telling anyone when either. Oh, sure, we got a letter saying it might happen “over the coming weeks” but never an actual date. So, now we find our fearless hero downloading a rather large iso image and having his cable modem start blinking like there’s no tomorrow. Then, of course, it stops blinks all together. Matt get’s up, power cycles the modem… still nothing. Matt yells at the modem, still nothing. It takes 48 hours for them to “switch over” their systems. Something I would have been more understanding towards if they had told me it was going to happen. How did the tech support guy slime his way out of that one you may ask? Well, he simply told me that I should check my email and there would be a notice of the service interuption… some of you aren’t getting this… he told me to CHECK MY EMAIL with the service I didn’t have. Sure enough, this morning I was notified that I had just experienced a service outage… how nice of them.
Besides that modem, I did have some fun this weekend. Wednesday night, Lauren and I went out to Bella’s, our favorite Italian place. Thursday, we watched Moulin Rouge with a small group. Friday we stayed in and rented a movie. Last but certainly not least, last night we went to the Savannah Symphony to here a tribute to Frank Sinatra. It was really good and I’m really glad we went. Afterwards, Lauren, Hallie, Brittiny and myself went to the Diner for some eats. It was really a fun evening.
As for today. I only have two things on my to do list. First, I need to find a sphere, a cylinder and a cube to use as my first lighting subjects in a photo on Monday. I hope for supplies get here. Second, I need to do a little grocery shopping, just the essentials. I should probably also pick up a few odds and ends for that afor-mentioned photo shoot. That’s about it. Later kids.

Another day, another debt. I broke (no pun intended) down and ordered a nifty light meter from B&H in New York. Hopefully it’ll be here for Monday, but probably not. Anyway. Last night was pretty fun, Lauren, Hallie, Liisa, Josh, Jason and myself all watched Moulin Rouge and had some snacks. The snacks we made tasted really good but apparently my stomach disagreed. I woke up in the middle of the night and was sick. Very unpleasent. As for today, I don’t really have much to do. I’ve got to find objects for my first Studio still life but that should be pretty easy. I should probably also do some grocery shopping. We’ll see. I think tonight Lauren and I might go to a nifty little coffee shop downtown and maybe check out some jazz at a club down the street. Ok, I’m going to go have some toast since my stomach is still doing weird things. Later.
