What a day. Studio went

What a day.

Studio went well. My photo partner took her friggin’ sweet ass time setting up her shot, which eventually didn’t work anyway. So, half way through class, I got behind the camera, changed ALL the lights, the back drop, the positions of everything and finally composed a shot I liked. It’s borring but that’s besides the point. It was one of those “learning exercises.” But all went well and I’m happy with my shot.

Afterwards I went over to Lauren’s for dinner. She was making the really really good kind of raveolie (the big giant ones). It was quite tasty. After that, it turned out that her car tire went flat last night so I busted out the jack and put on the spare. It was actually quite easy compared to my car. After that she needed to run a quick errand to Office Max to get a printer cartridge and to the grocery store. While we were at the grocery store she got me Ben & Jerry’s to reward me for fixing her flat tire. Yum.

So, here I am, eating B&J’s, about to take a shower and catch some sleep.

Tomorrow I get my refund check. Huzah! There’s quite a few “nessisary” things I need to do with it. Rent, for example, is a pretty important one. My car needs an oil change and new brake pads, I need to pay off my credit card, I need to get some groceries, stuff like that. After I wipe away my current debt, I can think about making some more. I wonder how cheap I can do a ‘puter upgrade for? Guys, any suggestions?

Stuffage. Got my website done.

Stuffage. Got my website done. The teacher seemed to like it. She was a bit impressed by my 1337 CSS skillz. Hehehe. Anyway. So, it’s 20 minutes after class started and I’m already done… hense the reason I’m updating my journal instead of paying attention. I’m debating whether to leave and sleep some more or to stick around downtown and do absolutely nothing… I think I just answered my own question. Sleep wins over productivity. Duh. Ok, maybe I’ll update some more before my 3:00. Later.

Damn. I’m good. I’ve already

Damn. I’m good. I’ve already finished my 5 pages, hand coded. I’m proud of myself. It’s really a super simple set up, just your basic tables, navigation on the left, that sort of thing. Oh well. I did throw in some style tags to spice things up a bit. Hopefully it isn’t “overboard.”

I almost forgot to mention that I finished some skins for Chris’s roommates Tetris clone. I’ll upload those tomorrow so you guys can get’em if you want to. Anyway. A big thanks to the Fish for making an addiction little clone that I can’t stop playing.

Later.

Things are sorta working again

Things are sorta working again here in internet land. We made our cable company get off their fat butts and add two more IP addys today. Which means that all of us are back online. The connection is still slower than your average grandmother driving but at least it works. And as for my horrific two days of non-updating… I couldn’t think of anything interesting to write. Sunday afternoon I sat around the house and enjoyed “me time”. Lauren came over to visit that evening and we relaxed a bit. Monday, everyone had the day off so I started in on some HTML stuff I needed to do then I started making dinner. I made one of those StoveTop “dinners in a box” which I would recommend to anyone. Those things are awesome. All you need is the box and some chicken.

As for today, I went downtown before class, to the Bursars office, and got them to push my refund check through. I’ll be able to pick it up on Thursday. Which is good, because I’m friggin broke.

So, tonight, after visiting with Lauren for a little bit, I’ve come home to work on a website that’s due tomorrow. So that’s that.

Let’s see, what else…

CS 1.4 is kinda/sorta cool. They changed the spectator/”you’re dead” mode a lot. Cleaned up some of the voice stuff and their “working” on anti-cheat implementation. I haven’t seen anyone cheat yet, so maybe it’s working and I don’t know it.

Lastly… I stumbled across something called Post Nuke, an open-source content management system, which if it’s everything it seems to be, maybe be my new web page system. I’ll have to play with it before I make a switch or anything. It might also be a way for Chris and I to work with www.blogproject.com, which btw, we still need a host for.

Ok, back to work. Later.

Well, my roomies just left

Well, my roomies just left for the Catch-22 and Suicide Machines concert in Atlanta. A small part of me wishes I went with them but the rest of me realizes I get to sit around the house naked and watch movies all day. That part of me is happy. Anyway.

Last night a bunch of us went to see A Beautiful Mind. Great movie. I can definately see why it’s already being nominated for awards. Russell Crowe does a great job playing Prof. John Nash. I think Crowe really has some range as an actor, he’s certainly come a long way since Gladiator and a really really long way since LA Confidential and The Quick and the Dead. I don’t really feel like reviewing this one at the moment, maybe later this afternoon. But it is very good. Go see it. You’ll laugh, cry, cheer, boo, etc. It’s a rare gem in the current pile of movie garbage.

Ok. Shower and food time. Later.
