To answer some comments…

I’m using the add in card because the “built in” networking isn’t really built in, it’s this little dinky “half of a board” thing, that doesn’t even fit in a slot, it just sits there and you connect it to the MB with what looks like a CD audio wire. So, screw that. I disabled it in Device Manager and tried setting up the network again. Still nothing. I’ve used all the settings that are on this machine and it still won’t recognize the connection. It knows that I have a LAN and that I want to connect through it, but when it gets to the “internet connection” part of the installation wizard it stops. It says it can’t finish and that I should do it manually. So, it sets up the network just fine, I can see all my roommates and such, but it won’t give me the connection through the hub. It keeps saying how its not recommended to use a hub and that I should be going through a server or firewalled pc. I don’t understand it anymore. I’ll try and find instructions on changing network setting, because I’ve obviously missed something.

As for Dungeon Siege, I take my comments back. Crashing problems fix. It was me, not the game. Still, incase anyone’s interested, there’ll be a patch out later today. No link for you yet, but check places like Voodoo Extreme and Blues.

Today I’m going to be working on two things. A: Writting a large research paper and B: Getting that damn net connection to work. A is obviously more important than B, unless of course I’d like to install Office on the new system, copy over bookmarks and start trying to research on the new system… which doesn’t seem very practical.

Later tonight, Lauren and I have a little event/dance thingy to go to. It should be fun, it’s at the top floor of a downtown hotel. All ritzy and stuff. I should probably iron a shirt them…

Then tomorrow it’s back to the darkroom where I’ll be printing for a good chunk of the day. Nagle’s expressed an intrest in tagging along to film me working. Something about making a film trailer. That should be interesting.

I’m also waiting on test results for Lauren so we can figure out what’s causing her sickness at the moment. I hope it’s nothing serious or at least something that can be easily treated once diagnosed. I’m really worried for her.

That is all. Carry on…
