Today I got an email from my father. It contains something that my father has only hinted at in the past. That he’s very proud of me and my choice of profession. It means a lot to me.

You should take a moment and look at a photo essay called “Shattered” by James Nachtwey of Time magazine. Every once in a while certain photos can convey a message better than words. This man’s work convinces me that you are engaged in a course of action that when you’re done you will be able to use your talent to make a real difference in the world.

I took a look at that photo essay and was continually amazed by the photographs. I only hope that one day, I can do something for the world along these lines. That somehow my photographs might touch others.

Speaking of photographs, its time that I got around to taking some. I’ve got an assignment to take care of on my way to becoming a better photographer. Later.
